These terms apply when you use CouchPad for Android TV, the controller page, the web version at app.couchpad.tv and this website. By using CouchPad you agree to them.
1. What CouchPad is
CouchPad is an emulator front-end: it plays retro game files on your TV and turns phones into controllers. CouchPad does not include any games, BIOS files or copyrighted game content.
2. Your games
You may only use CouchPad with game files and BIOS files you have the legal right to use, for example backups of games you own or freely distributed homebrew. You are responsible for the files you load. We do not provide, link to or help you find copyrighted games.
3. CouchPad Pro
- CouchPad Pro is a one-time in-app purchase sold through Google Play. There is no subscription.
- It is tied to your Google account and can be restored by reinstalling CouchPad with the same account.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Google Play under Google Play’s refund policy. If a purchase is refunded, Pro features turn off.
- The free version has no time limits or ads, and Pro will not add any.
- Prices are set in Google Play and may differ by country.
4. Open source
CouchPad is free software under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and it uses third-party emulator cores under their own licences. Those licences give you rights that these terms do not limit.
5. Trademarks
CouchPad is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Nintendo, Sony, Sega, Atari, NEC or any other console maker. Console names are used only to describe compatibility and belong to their owners.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use CouchPad to infringe copyright, to distribute games you do not have rights to, or to attack or overload other people’s devices or servers.
7. No warranty
CouchPad is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Some games may not run, run slowly or crash. Keep your own backups of saves you care about.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of CouchPad. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for CouchPad Pro. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use CouchPad after a change means you accept it.
